Dave's Bio

A Florida native, Dave Fleming began working in his father’s construction business before he graduated from high school. By the time he completed his A.A. degree in building construction at Polk Community College, he owned his own construction company. Dave gained experience in commercial and industrial as well as residential construction after he graduated from the University of South Florida in Engineering Management. In 1984, Dave became Major Construction Coordinator for Polk County School Board, and he worked for that institution in various capacities until his retirement in 2007 as Director of Design and Construction.

A short-term mission trip to Brazil more than 20 years ago changed Dave’s perspective. Dave says, “God instilled a desire to use my talents, knowledge and love of construction for His work.”  Since then, he has participated in numerous short-term mission trips to Brazil, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Honduras and the Dominican Republic as well as in the U.S.

Dave says, “My wife, Connie and I feel that we have been so richly blessed, and now that our sons are both successful adults, it is time for us to invest in those who may not be so fortunate.”
