From the initial prayer that was prayed by our founder, Brett Durbin, on a trash dump in Honduras, prayer has played a key role in the formation and development of Trash Mountain Project. Our desire is to be a ministry that keeps its focus on God and His will through extended, fervent prayer. This desire is based on three observations:
Prayer is a command for the believer:
James 5:16 “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.”
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you”
Jesus regarded prayer as essential:
Mark 1:35 “And rising very early in the morning, while it was still dark, he departed and went out to a desolate place, and there he prayed.”
Luke 6:12 “In these days he went out to the mountain to pray, and all night he continued in prayer to God.”
The apostles valued prayer above all else:
Acts 6:4 “But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the word.”
