Cindy Wilson, Treasurer

Cindy earned a BBA, accounting emphasis, from Washburn University in 1995. She returned to Washburn to obtain her MBA in 2007 and was awarded the highest academic honors. She was selected for membership in the business honor society, Beta Gamma Sigma by the Washburn University Chapter in December 2007.

Upon graduation, Cindy went to work for Koch Industries as an accountant. While at Koch, she earned her certified public accountant status (CPA). In 1998, Cindy joined Western Resources (now Evergy) and held several different positions over her 22 years. She began as an internal auditor, and throughout her career, worked in Generation, Compliance, Regulatory and HR. In 2023, Cindy accepted a position as Director, Rates and Regulatory at Liberty Utilities, located in Joplin, Missouri. From 2002 to 2005, Cindy worked as the Vice President, Controller at American Home Life Insurance.

As a certified public accountant, Cindy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is also a certified internal auditor (CIA) and certified risk management assurance (CRMA) and is a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors. Cindy serves as the Treasurer for the non-profit organization, Communities in Schools of Mid-America. She also serves as a commissioner on the Topeka Public Building Commission.

Cindy and her husband, Travis, live in Topeka. They have twin daughters that are currently attending college.
