About 10 years ago, Chuck Preston, a lifelong missionary to Papua, New Guinea told me it was time to get involved in global missions. My wife of 33 years, Gail, and I began to search how God could use our talents for His glory. We have served in local ministries and are on the board of Caring Pregnancy Options. We have always been interested in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of those least able to help themselves.

My wife, three sons and their wives had a team meeting shortly after my conversations with Chuck. We agreed to all work in our construction company and support each other in global missions. We have been blessed to travel with several mission organizations. We have taken numerous trips with Living Water international drilling wells in Central America. My favorite trip with them was to Guatemala. We drilled a 150’ deep well in a school courtyard. The hundreds of students got their water from a pit in the ground. We also shared hygiene, Jesus and played with them. The final two days we had a 300 person water fight and then dedicated their well.

Then the call came from Trash Mountain Project. Could Pastor Joe Hishmeh and I travel to Santiago, Dominican Republic, to see a possible location for TMP’s work? The needs were overwhelming. Pastor Joe asked what we could do. My answer…we can help! I love what TMP is doing to help the least fortunate. Our family is committed to serving others. That’s what we are created for in Christ.
